Yes. they should be able to deduct all their gay related expenses. like drinking at gay bars, going to gay events or just the cost of being fabulous.

I think they should just be allowed to get married and enjoy all of the perks (insurance, tax breaks, and tons of others) that hetero married couples take advantage of.

I'd just be happy to be able to claim my partner as a dependent. I spent $40k sending him to rehab (worth every cent), but could not deduct a penny of it.

A gay person can get married. the thing is u have to travel to a state that allows it or a country like canada. and if the gave gay people a tax credit everyone would say they r gay just to get it.

At this point I would have to say no, because it would negate what they are fighting for - - - the right to get married and have all of the same rights and responsibilities that opposite-sex marriage participants have. There are over 1300 state rights and over 600 federal rights that same-sex married couples are not eligible to receive. Right now, NYS Supreme Court, 4th Appellate Division, has unanimously voted that NYS must recognize same-sex marriages that were performed legally (i.e. in Canada and Massachusetts). This will help those NYS residents to receive some of the above mentioned rights and responsibilities, but certainly not the federal rights. Another reason that I say no is because that may be construed to be a special tax credit, thereby promoting even more discrimination.

I agree with Katie S. If we were able to get married in the first place, we could get all the perks that married people get. It's not like we're asking for the sun, moon and stars. We're asking for rights that's afforded to everyone else (who's heterosexual).

No special rights for sexual behaviours.
