Question: Will the bankrupt or people that default on student loans/credit cards go to hell?

I am told as a homosexual, I must repent and turn from my life of homosexuality to inherit the kingdom of God...which would mean...no more gay sex. So, with that rationale...someone who has broken one of the 10 commandments...like say, stealing....would also have to turn from their sin to inherit the kingdom of God....correct? So, if you do not pay back your student loan or credit card debt...and if you file bankruptcy, you are guilty of stealing...for you have taken what is not yours without reimbursement. Sure you can repent and say, oops sorry God...but, if you keep your car, furniture, house, etc...that is not paid for...you continue to reap the benefits of your sin....you continue to live in your sin, so go to hell? Why do you think you can simply say, oops God, sorry and be forgiven...without turning from the sin, by paying back what was stolen?

When you sin, you must ask for forgiveness and repent and make good on the sin, in other words you can't just sin and say all I have to do is ask for forgiveness it would not be sincere, you also have to ask for forgiveness and pay back the money or do time for murder etc...

The thing about God and sin is that we have to repent with our hearts and try to turn from sin. salvation is between God and that individual. if someone rapers and murders a victim and that person finds God and asks for forgiveness...then they will be forgiven. that is not up to us. we can not judge but we can tell people about the word of God. i don't go around sinning because i know I'm going to be forgiven. it doest work like that. you cant do "premeditated sin ".

You have to be truly sorry for your sins and then your sins will be forgiven god doesn't just hear the words he sees into your heart also

Sin does not get one sent to hell. Having gay sex does not get you sent to hell. Everyone sins. The price we pay for that sin is death (hell). Accepting Christ and what he did for you is the only thing that saves you from the consequences of your sin, no matter what that sin was. Part of being saved requires that you believe with your heart, not your mind. God will read your heart on judgement day. My sin has been paid for completely. God will confict your heart for the changes he desires to see in your life. You are being told incorrectly that you must stop having gay sex to inherit the kingdom of God. If you truely believe what Jesus did for you in your heart, there will be an outward change in your life. God will see your heart. god will work in your heart. All you need to do is let him in.

I would seriously doubt that anyone who filed bankruptcy would consider it stealing and therefore a sin. Thus, I can't imagine any repentance for bankruptcy or defaulting on loans. You cannot then even view it as a sin for which people ask forgiveness. It's an unrepentant sin. No group or church is going to condemn people with bankruptcies or unpaid loans. They would lose too much money and too many followers if they tried. It's much easier to attack and legislate against gay Americans and call it "love. "
