Question: How does a church become so big that they have their own iphone app?
(Posted by: Kier22_2 on 2010-02-13 19:50:31)
While browsing the Lifestyle section of the itunes store I came across an app for a saddleback church after doing a search I found that wasn't the only one! How is that really going to help you. Isn't the point of a house of worship to be in attendance? It's great for people who are traveling & cannot attend or for the house bound but really people...is this what religion has become, a convient app on our phone? What do you think? |

It's just another product of the Digital Age we're experiencing. It neither surprises nor saddens me. A lot of things have become digitized. |

It doesnt have to be big, it just needs a smart guy/ woman that is an app developer that has some money to make the app and brains to know what theyre doing. although, the app would be pointless unless its a popular church that records sermons or has lots of events that people are willing to go to |

Just goes to show ya how far off the "church " has gotten. Oh sure, listen to us , don't have to be here, BUT don't forget to send that check in, No wonder The Lord is calling folks out of the "church ". Most of them are whacked, and being run by Satan. What happened to gathering together, to fellowship with other folks, and hold each other accountable to The Word??? Hmmm!!! |

I think the iphone application reflects the historical trend since Day One: The itinerant roaming the hills >group gatherings >dedicated structures >print media >radio broadcast media >television broadcast media >tape/ cassette/ cd media >iphone application, etc. Yep, the iphone is the latest incarnation of a time honored tradition - grab the pony of technology & ride! Does that make the practitioner any less devout ... the belief any less valid? ( Insert Big Shoulder Shrug Here) But then, are you asking about spirituality or religion? |
