That is partially true. The current new health care bill is promoting a plan that would insist on everyone having a government health care plan . It will not be a law, but if you do not accept it then you will be penalized. I believe the fine is around $1000. This is primarily for the folks who have money to buy their own health care insurance as a way for the government to pay for those that do not have any. It is basically the redistribution of wealth and punishing those who are playing by the rules. If this bill passes, it is what the liberals are proposing. Oddly enough, this situation in Great Britain has failed miserably and they are trying to change it back to more of a free market system. Also, the elderly stand to be among the biggest losers if this passes. Government health care does not mean quality health care. Just ask the Native Americans who are get government health care. It is about as bad as it gets. Will the people drafting this bill be partaking in this type of health care? And where will we find the doctors to go along with it especially without serious tort reform? Seniors, you do not want this is this form.

No, that sounds like a silly Republican myth put on the Internet by a 10 year old. There are millions of Americans who can't afford a health care plan, and even if Obama care were made law it wouldn't cover everybody.

I've never heard of such a thing. IF that was the case, then Immigration needs to round up all of the illegal immigrants, from all over & deport them first. Fat chance of that happening, so the uninsured have nothing to worry about. <IMHO >

I have read that it might become illegal for EMPLOYERS to have employees without paying for their health insurance. This might make it difficult to find or keep a job & I know it would further put a strain on small business owners who already are forced to pay far more than their employees pay into the tax system on state & federal levels. I see this as yet another way for the new administration to herd the American people into a corral where we will have no choice but to spend our money in large corporate chain stores like Walmart & Target. It's part of becoming a country with lesser freedom to chose how we live our lives, in my opinion,

You mean like it's illegal not to have car insurance? Well, that kind of plan would mean that I can stop paying some people's emergency room visits coz that's where they go for a sneeze when they don't have insurance. If every one had insurance maybe they would actually make an appointment to see a doctor like the rest of us do. But I don't know if your original question is true. Or ever will be.

A lot of people cannot afford health Insurance, they may have to choose food or some other item that they need more over the insurance payment. Poppy

No truth to it at all.

This would mean possible jail time for some 40 million people And now the government would be responsible for their health care So I guess my answer is No

It certainly sounds like it.

Not illegal but some insurance could be mandated or you would be fined, but that is still cheaper than an individual private insurance policy at current rates. Nothing will take effect for 4 years.
